Pink Tartan F/W 2011 Final Walk

Pink Tartan F/W 2011

The Pink Tartan show was incredible. I found myself gasping at each new look that came down the runway. Newport-Mimran's F/W collection was made up of military and utilitarian influences with a hearty dose of feathers to soften it up. Put quite simply, it was the epitome of military chic. My favourite pieces were the silk jumpsuits and structured coats in khaki greens, and the beyond gorgeous jewel-tone feather skirts. Totally put me in a shopping mood! The highlight of the show though, for me, was looking up and seeing Derek Blasberg walk in. He proceeded to plant himself two rows directly in front of me and, needless to say, I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the clothes. Definitely a surreal moment at LGFW!

All Hail Moss & McQueen

Kate Moss wearing Alexander McQueen on the double-cover May issue of Harper's Bazaar UK. The magazine is paying tribute to the late McQueen and celebrating his retrospective at The Met. Absolutely stunning photos. I'll definitely be picking up a copy of the issue to cherish forever.

I had such a great time on Day 2 of LGFW at Heritage Court. My first show of the day was Chloe comme Parris. I was running late and almost missed the start of the show, but thankfully it started late and I made it in time to grab an empty seat in one of the back rows. The collection had a very cool, dark and moody vibe and was made up almost entirely of black. I had my eye on a great leather backpack and all of the asymmetrical tees and dresses. Who doesn't love a train?

It's that time of year again! North America's 2nd largest (!!) fashion week officially began today. LG Fashion Week kicked off at Heritage Court with an invitation only runway show by Holt Renfrew, showcasing the best of Canada's design talent. Also showing tonight were IZMA and Juma. So far, according to all of your Tweets, the week is off to a great start! I'll be attending as many shows as I can manage this week so prepare for some LGFW fashion overload here on livesinheels.

Ready for Summer

I can't get enough of this picture. It is currently set as the background on my Mac and on my phone. Now I'm posting it here. I think it's because my distaste for winter has become so great, that I have to find comfort in any and all things summer. To me, this is the perfect summer outfit. An airy white dress, a cute hat, dark shades and of course, a killer tan. Is winter over yet?

ps. I just got my first apartment in Toronto! We get possession on April 1st and I couldn't be more excited. I've actually been spending more time scouring interior design blogs than fashion blogs, if you can believe that. I promise to post pics of the new place once we're all settled in.

pps. Doesn't she kind of have an Olivia Palermo-esque look to her? Maybe that's why I like it so much.
