It's that time of year again! Toronto's LG Fashion Week is only a few weeks away. This year, the venue is at David Picault Square (221 King Street West). I don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy I don't have to shlep myself all the way down to Heritage Court.

Full calendar is posted here.

Registration is now live, so go get your tickets before they're sold out!

LGFW: In The Details

The only thing more fashionable than the clothes coming
down the runway was the people attending the shows.

Amanda Lew Kee F/W 2011

Those who put together the LGFW schedule saved the best for last,
it seems. 22 year old designer Amanda Lew Kee took the 8:30PM
time slot on Friday night, the final day of Toronto Fashion
Week. Was it worth the wait? Most definitely. Lew Kee has been
on every fashionista's radar since her S/S collection debuted
at LGFW back in October and the packed house on Friday night
proved it. An extra row of benches were brought in just to
accommodate all of the attendees.

The show began with a furry black goat hair coat, belted at the waist,
which immediately grabbed the attention of showgoers. The rest of the
collection consisted of a variety of skirts and dresses with hems
ranging from above the knee to mid-calf, gorgeous jackets with exposed
gold zippers and sheer panelling, and of course, functional yet chic
leggings. Lew Kee took her collection in a slightly sudden turn when
she sent a metallic, tinsel-looking material down the runway but somehow
it seemed to work. (I would have done away with the orange, but kept the
electric blue) My favourite looks? The long, sheer maxis, the
Kimono-inspired beaded jackets, and the rolled sleeves.

it's that time of year again

So as I mentioned a few posts ago, Teen Vogue Fashion U is fast approaching. So too, is Toronto Fashion Week. What does this mean? Lots of outfits to prepare. Here are some photos that I've been drawing inspiration from lately in hopes of coming up with some new and unique outfits for the upcoming events.

What I'm loving: leopard, military, knits, red, feathers, layering and of course, camel.

I probably won't be posting until after I get back from New York, but stay tuned because I promise to post a LOT of exciting stuff when I return!

A great video showcasing MKA and the latest collection for their minimalist line The Row.

ps - I'm so so so busy right now with school and work and fashion week and other events but I do hope to post more often if I survive the month of October.

A Sign of Things to Come

Chanel F/W 2010 Collection.

Karl would fly in an actual iceberg for his show. Not to mention he used only fake fur. This is kind of the reason why I, and everyone else, love him.
